Media Guide to the permanent exhibition
“Art in Berlin 1880–1980”Our Media Guide presents highlights from the Berlinische Galerie’s collection. Apart from information about the art and the history, it contains detailed descriptions to convey an idea of the art work for blind and partially sighted visitors. Tips about the route to follow, combined with our tactile floor guidance, will help users to find their own way around the museum. This enables the blind and visually impaired to enjoy interactive, independent access to the art.
On devices borrowed at the museum, the content is displayed and played automatically at each station without the need to key in a number or press a button.
You can borrow the Media Guide free of charge at our information desk in the museum foyer. We can also provide audio induction loops. These loops are for people using a hearing aid or cochlea implant with a telecoil. The volume on a borrowed device can be adjusted as required.
If you use the Media Guide on a device of your own, the audio descriptions will not play automatically. You will trigger them manually. The exhibition labels indicate the relevant symbol beneath the title of the work.
You can use adjust the Media Guide to your personal needs by altering the contrast and enlarging the script. All the audio content is also available in text form.
